Dry Summary
A statue somehow got into the machinery and started affecting the minds of the people working on the cars. The workers, now mindlessly following the subconscious will of an eldritch god, are building an army of robots animated by magic.
Questgiver
The wife of one of the workers is worried that her husband has not come home for the past few days. She tried to go to the factory, but it was abandoned. She asks the party to investigate.
Hook
As the party walks by the police station, they hear a woman pleading an officer to please help her find her husband. The policeman says that the factory is empty and there is nothing he can do without a lead. When the woman notices the party's attention she begs them to please investigate the factory.
Dungeon
Introduction
The factory is dark and locked. The windows are boarded up, and there is no easy way in. Those with sensitive ears may hear still hear sounds of activity inside, though there is a suspicious lack of voices.
All doors are locked, and all windows are boarded from the inside, except for one, small window about 6m from the ground, next to it is a rain pipe leading to the roof. If the players force their way inside, they'll find that the production lines are rolling at full speed, though what rolls off them looks nothing like the cheap cars this factory is supposed to make.
Details
None of the factory workers respond. If interrupted they'll simply drop limp, and another will take their place. The lights don't work, nothing suggests they are broken, but they simply don't turn on. Whatever way the party used to get in, is now locked once more. In order to get the factory floor they need to walk through a set of offices and store rooms, one of these notably has a bunch of uniforms. Another has a bunch of tools. There is a large crane hanging from the ceiling. With a control box in a locked area.
Puzzle
In order to leave, the players must find the statue and destroy it. The statue is nested in the mechanism of one of the large steel working machines. A lot of workers are doing nothing, instead they are kneeling, facing the steel working machine. If the party tries to get close to the machine, the workers rush them and pin them down, dragging them away. The steel working machine seems to be the only one not turned on. The statue is visible from the outside, being placed on top of a particularly large gear.
Possible solutions
The party may find a way to sneak past the workers, subdue them, or destroy the statue without getting close. For example: They could dress up in factory worker uniforms and find their way to the machine that way. They could turn on the machine, crushing the statue with the gears. They could use the crane to lift themselves over the crowd onto the machine.
